Becky’s history
Becky was diagnosed with Triple Negative breast cancer on June 15th, 2015, at the age of forty-nine. It was then that everything changed and her 5-year battle with Breast Cancer began. She underwent over twenty-three surgeries/procedures, in excess of 30 chemotherapy sessions and over 40 radiation treatments to her breasts, spine and brain. Our family witnessed tremendous courage, resilience and compassion throughout this fierce warrior’s battle. She grew up in the Pacific Northwest, spending a good part of her youth in Forks Washington before moving to the Vancouver/Portland area. Becky worked in healthcare for many years. She finished nursing school while undergoing chemotherapy. Becky was ultimately licensed in both Oregon and Washington. She loved to help others and that never stopped. Becky is survived by her three children who she was dedicated to, multiple stepchildren, a sister and a brother and Her husband Bryce. To know her was to love her. She loved family and music. She was active in The Portland Blues Association. Becky had an infectious spirit and a fearless nature. She brought light and love unselfishly to so many in need. Becky was our “Wonder Women” still supporting her family and others, connecting with other Breast Cancer survivors. We honor Becky and her spirit by teaming up with The Pink Lemonade Project, a non-profit organization that helps women and their families who are facing the challenges of breast cancer. Becky loved Pink Lemonade so very much that she hosted them at her wedding in lieu of presents. Our hope is to continue Becky’s legacy by bringing awareness to and education of early detection by supporting The Pink Lemonade Project. We wish to maintain her legacy of tenacity, courage, compassion and caring for others that she exhibited during her fight against Breast Cancer with an annual fund raising event .
