Sue Best, MSW, LCSW graduated from the University of Kansas, School of Social Welfare with her Bachelor and Master’s degrees in Social Work. She has spent over 40 years in healthcare specializing in oncology, palliative care and pediatrics. Sue currently works at Salem Hospital as a member of the Palliative Care Team.
Sue has completed studies at Seattle University’s Graduate School of Theology & Ministry and in 2016 was commissioned as a Deacon for the Lutheran Church (ELCA). She currently serves at St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Beaverton as the Deacon of Pastoral Visitation.
Sue is a breast cancer survivor of over 17 years and has been involved as both an oncology social worker and volunteer engaged in various aspects of breast cancer care and advocacy. She has been a member of the Pink Phoenix Dragon Boat Team since 2008. The “Pinks” are the first breast cancer survivor dragon boat team in the US.
This event is complimentary and intended for those who are living with metastatic (stage four) breast cancer.
